Hi Carol
I will be the first to admit I know nothing about SARD in dogs, but I have a friend who suffered a partial retinal detachment that happened very suddenly and it was treated by an ophthalmologist with a procedure using a laser to kind of "weld" the retina back into place. It was a painless 10 minute operation and she was 100 percent "fixed" after it. If the retina had been left untreated, further tearing was inevitable and she would have had severely impaired sight. Perhaps a canine opthalmologist would be equipped and trained to do a similar procedure? Good luck.
