Don't panic...<g> Specialty rooms are always sold out when the reservation book opens, but it's so far ahead...many people's plans change so many/most of the people on the official waiting list end up in the host hotel. Contact the host hotel or the Specialty Hotel Coordinator (not sure who it is, I'm sure you'll find a contact on the specialty website) and book one of the back up hotels (if available) AND see if you can wait list yourself for the host hotel.
