Molly was born in Vermont on Feb. 27, 2002. If anyone reading this has a pup born on that day (or knows of one) and wants to compare notes, I would welcome an e-mail.
We went to Tufts today for the re-check on Molly's right hip (her TPO was on December 13th). The hip is healing well! She will return to Tufts on March 13th for arthroscopic surgery on her elbows, both of which are severely dysplastic and showed signs of arthritis by age 9 months. Her left hip was, by 8 months old, too far "out" for a TPO, and the possibility of a Total Hip Replacement still looms in the future. But we are told that it is quite possible she will do well enough without a THR, and we are using Cosequin and Fresh Factors as well as anti-inflammatories in hopes of supporting her in as many ways as possible. She is in good spirits now, I am happy to say, and is especially pleased to be allowed out in the yard again, off-leash!

I know how good Berner owners are about sharing information, so how many of you who have dogs with hip dysplasia have tracked litter mates? There must be families out there with two or more littermates affected!
Cheryl, how many Berner family samples has VetGen received, and how many more do you need from us?
