Hugo did not do well on the Robaxin and for a couple of days it was pure
torture for all of us. He would have anxious wide, bloodshot eyes and bark
for hours, all night, for no reason. Turns out these are possible side
effects.

Sadly he has been steadily worse since last week. The surgeon and I thought
this was just sore neck muscles but he cannot hold his head up himself now.
He can lift it a few inches but not up to eat unless we are holding it for
him. His front paws are rigid most of the time and he's unable to move
himself to his other side as he's not using his legs so I have to do that
for him every few hours. He has small muscle spasm/twitches, sometimes has
difficulty peeing and worst of all I have not seen a tail wag since last
week (poor Hugo...).

The mobile vet is not sure why this is happening but he is very discouraged.
The surgeon will examine him Saturday morning. I was looking forward to
getting Hugo into the San Diego hydro-therapy with another list member this
week but the surgeon put that on hold until he sees him.

I so appreciate all the work everyone is doing - you are such a terrific
bunch and it is a comfort. But this is such an odd, puzzling spiral.
