Hi Trish

I have not tried flavoured milk apart from in the form of
milk shakes, I use powered milk in my coffee if I can't get
to the fridge in the back room, I have now a kettle in my
bedroom so I don't have to go downstairs in the morning and
wake the dogs up and they wake up my parents, I have a mix
of powered hot drink packets up here, makes my life a bit
easier. Never tried iced tea.

They use sand and salt on the roads round here which is what
makes the vehicles rust and go rotten so quickly.

I don't drink black coffee either, I use flavored coffee
creamer preferrably
hazelnut.

I drink sweet iced tea, not hot, and for sure not
unsweetened, it's a Texan
thang.

I drink milk and cook with it some. I do not use the kitty
litter since I
have no cats and cannot have them do to allergic. They used
the litter to
put down on top of the ice for traction.

On major highways, they use sand.

I think my porch could use a few scoopfuls of the stuff.
ah, adaptive technology, it's the tool for all.

Hi Trish

Sounds like you had a great time in spite of the icy
conditions, the equipment some of the guys use for their
pc's is fantastic, I knew a guy who was blown up I Northern
Ireland, he was paralysed from the neck down, he operated
his pc from a pointer on a helmet he wore, he had to lay on
his back all the time, what they can achieve is fantastic.

Shame you couldn't get any milk or cat litter as we call it,
looks like you will have to drink black coffee or black tea,
not sure I fancy black tea though. Ok take care and stay
warm and safe.

Regards

Adrien

Howdy Yall!
I braved the cold, the ice, the slush to take cookies and
gifts to 6 adult men with head injuries along with my sister
and brother in law.

One of them was having a birthday tomorrow and the parents
had furnished ice cream and cupcakes. This guy turns 35, but
he has other disabilities. He uses a keyboard to
communicate.

Another fella, wears special glasses that allows him to move
the cursor on his computer.
Everyone of them are in wheelchairs. This house had been
modified to accommodate for wheelchair use, each of them
have their own room. One guy was playing Christmas music,
while another was watching a movie, but they all rallied
round the big dining table for the treats.

Our church sponsors 9 group homes. Once a month, we have
each of these home come to our church and they are served a
meal, make a craft, hear a story. Their group home workers
also attend, and many members of our church volunteer to
assist in feeding most of these men and women.
In March, we do a wheelchair special Olympics for them to
participate in.
In May, we celebrate all of their birthdays at one time.
This is the last time of the year we meet and we do a big
pizza party and then we clear out the room of all
tables/chairs and crank up the music, and we all dance, it's
really something to hear and be involved in!

We took them each a animal print throw, each guy got a
different animal print and they all seemed to like their
animals. We had put them in very colorful Christmas theme
bags, they got to choose the ones they wanted.

the roads and sidewalks and grass are still thick with ice,
it will freeze again tonight, cause it's still very cold
outside.

I asked my bro in law if he could stop at the store so I
could get milk and butter, I got butter. Not one bit of milk
in the store. The trucks can't bring the milk the raw stuff
from the dairy to be processed due to the icy conditions. I
should of bought powdered instead.
Also not one bag of kitty litter on the shelves, it's on the
ground for the
ice.
Sure be glad when this stuff is melted so we can get
restocked in the stores.

Everybody stay warm!

Trish
