The problem of numeric symbols is not caused by Best Charts, nor by Yahoo. This is a decision that many non-USA stock exchanges have made.

Subject: Re: [bestcharts] New Version 4.40 available to test

Sirs,

Checked the new version of Best-Charts. It only makes the situations worse.  For the last two weeks, most of the microcharts were having number-codes in place of name-codes, making it difficult to identify the scrips. I was forced to maintain a list of number-codes and the corresponding names of the scrips. The system was better as we needed to chose only 'India' to ger the quotes and all details of the scrips of listed in both the stock-exchanges BSE and NSE.

After downloading the new version, we are expected to enter the URLs as in the examples. The result was, the micro-charts of all BSE scrips were found filtered out. Also none ot the data regarding the scrips were available,,,,, I mean the high lows  days range etc.  So I have uninstalled it and reilnstalled the older version.  I only wish we get Yahoo to revert to the earlier system of having only
code names only on the microcharts. I have written at least twice, to Yaahoo about this before presenting it in the forum. There is no response from Yahoo, or any change in the joke.

I am happy with the current version of Best-Charts. Any change should be improvement and making it more user-friendly..

Thanks,

Shyam Raj
