Which means that J801 users are supposed to do what, exactly?

At greater length: Where are they and what does one do with them once found?

I ask because I simply don't know whether one downloads and overwrites existing
files, or whether there are any config files that one does not want to
overwrite.

The layout of the various directories and user configuration/profile files has
changed with different versions, so I simply cannot count on knowing what to do.

I do beta testing, sometimes for compensation, with other software products,
too. I'm just accustomed to being given instructions as to how to proceed when
a new version is ready. Is it too much to ask with J? (A simple bit of
boilerplate, or even a link in the message a URL where such information is
provided, would obviate any burden of having to type more each time a new
update is announced.)

Thanks in advance,
Murray
