Thanks for the comments and I have corrected the config=. line.
Have you run with J installed in Vista "Program Files" and done either JAL
updates or your own maintenance? My experience has been bad and hence the
use of the word discouraged.

I like the install documentation (although I think I'd settle for a

config=. user,'\config'
rather than:
config=. user,'\temp'
?
I can see that the addition of the profilex.ijs mechanism should help
users from breaking their profile.ijs and ending up with a non-starting
J installation, as well as prevent new updates/installs from overwriting
customised locations of the user file store.

The cbeta does not include a new JE or Library.
It tries to address all of the installation issues. With luck this is
nearly
the final version for isntallation issues.
Related to installation, please take a look at lab - Application
Distribution - Installer as it has improved and reflects the new J
installations.
