My way is slightly simpler. I just make a copy of the whole SlimServer installation folder under a different name. Then I run the regular installer to install over the old one. (The first time I tried 6.2 I also had to clear the cache folder and the prefs file.)
If something goes wrong I just end slim.exe, delete the folder, rename my backup, and restart SlimServer.
