It's not just that it's one letter, it's all that is associated with that letter. 'b' infers "beta" which comes with a set of connotations; 'a' would infer "alpha" which means a completely different thing. Perhaps it would be an idea to rename the nightly builds to include "unstable" in the file name to emphasise that that's what they are?
