It does not help... but I have exactly the same problem with 6.2.1 and a squeezeBox 2, while SqueezeBox 3 seems to not hang.
I can mitigate this problem by using another Squeeze screensaver, like the RSS feed for instance. The "Time" screensaver makes it hang almost one day out of two.
