I've just added Bug #3401 - "Sync broken in Random Mix playback" to
cover the specific interaction between Random Mix and SB synchronized play.
Some of the underlying causes and fixes may help with other sync and
dropout issues.
As the issue is occurring for me in the 6.5b branch, and seems likely to
be addressed there, I'm posting this to the Beta forum.
