Sorry probably wasn't very clear. It's working fine with the three steps above - it was very easy to do! I didn't even create a new protocol handler, just registered the standard HTTP for lastfm:.
I just wondered if in particular the custom-conv.conf addition is required/correct. Given that I have indicated lastfm will be a stream of type audio/mpeg, why do I further have to add a link between lastfm & mp3? (It didn't work without this) Will this still work if for example someone has set a bitrate limit lower than the stream size? Maybe I could have just put mp3 lastfm: - audio in the custom-types.conf and left it at that?
