Hi, Firmware 58 is now available in svn and tomorrow's nightlies (sorry, I checked in just to late for today's build).
This firmware includes the following enhancements: - Native Ogg support - Digital outputs are disabled in during setup and power-off mode. This will allow auto-sensing receivers to automatically switch between sources. We are looking for feedback on how well this feature works with various receviers. - Allow the squeezebox network settings to be password protected. This can be enabled from the "Current settings" menu in the squeezebox setup menus. See bug 3260 for more details. - Various DHCP bug fixes and enhancements as detailed in the bug list below. - Wireless Ad-hoc networks can now use the 802.11g extended rates. The official spec for Ad Hoc networks limits the data rate to 11Mb/s, so depending on your wireless adapter in your PC you may not see the increased speed. Bugs fixed in this release: - 1061 Ogg Vorbis Support in Firmware - 1184 sb2 setup allows some dumb ip addresses (immensely trivial) - 1264 send some default client host name to DHCP servers when requesting an ip - 1397 Digital outputs remain active in sleep / off mode - 2436 Ad-hoc uses b only? - 2527 Some MP3s do not play (hang at start) - 2620 SB3 sitting on two ip addresses. Assigned dhcp addy and one other - 2738 Please add a vendor-class identifier field to DHCP packets. - 2944 Slient gaps introduced into audio output (esp. with WMA VBR) - 3233 don't show splash screens after a firmware update - 3260 Add password protection to the Squeezebox setup - 3451 During data entry, move cursor after some timeout - 3542 wma meta data should use system_event_queue - 3576 Cursor doesn't move after entering punctuation char or using up/down - 3644 setup allows WPA passwords less than 8 characters in length -Please note this firmware requires slimserver 6.5 r8415 or greater to work correctly - you have been warned :)- Enjoy!
