Is there a way to add some registry entries to get the "--upnp" enabled in the slimsrv service that was created by the installer instead?
The way to add registry entries is regedit :-). You know, this is dangerous, don't do this at home, kids, blah, blah. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/SlimServer (or whatever the service is called. There you'll find the command string that's called in the ImagePath value. Add your parameters there, restart the service.
