Bingo, that was it(OK it's a dated expression...). I fumbled around a bit finding the server.prefs file, but once I did that took care of everything.
Thanks for the help, you did a great job on tracking it down. I like the work that's been done on the new interface. In addition the library scan times seem to be vastly improved over 6.5 and earlier.
