http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decibel dB is an expression of power (among other things) on a logarithmic scale. 0 is considered 'line level' and is usually full volume, or near to it (another typical maximum is +6dB). Anything lower is thus negative, or attenuated, meaning the original output power is being reduced. Each 3dB reduction is about half of the power. Basically, for those who want dB display, the negative makes perfect sense. For the rest, it's simply nice to know that it goes to 11. -kdf _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
