I don't use rpm based linux systems but I can't possibly imagine you
guys would use a different SC design/implementation for them? If you
do, then you are making things hard for yourself. The
scripts/files/logs may live in different places, but surely the scripts
and perl etc are essentially the same?

That I can't even comment about. But for linux at least, all I'm really
saying is that the hard part infrastructure for a user initiated restart
button is actually already in place within SC.
