I've had exactly the same problem with the nightly builds for the last week or so (SS 7.3 on Vista 32).
The problem seems to be intermittent - the server starts about 50% of the time, but the rest of the time it fails to start and displays the error message described by Vaggan (above). I've tried kesey's suggestions, but with no luck.
