Andy needs to comment. I don't think this change is in 7.5 trunk yet.
The bulk of the fixes to the scanner to better pick up changes are being
done in the development branch for the embedded server ("TinySC").
Maybe he's trying to keep from destabilizing the 7.5 trunk and these
changes will be merged when he's more confident they're OK. I'd expect
a warning when that happens.
Also looks like there are a lot of optimizations being done to the
scanning process, plus some changes to the VA detection logic. I hope
beta testers get a good long look at these before 7.5 is released, as
you can be sure that a few new bugs will be introduced.
