after a day of use, qualitatively my feeling is that it's nice and
snappy, more so than earlier FF versions.

I dabbled in using Chrome as a default browser earlier in the month,
and there's certainly a fair bit of awesome in that browser,
particularly in startup speed and memory management, but I came to the
conclusion that at least today, Firefox is still tops for me.
