Then I realized that that software usually _does_ ignore ARTISTSORT. So it didn't really help, but it seemed benign, even if 'odd'.
Even though I doubt that's the cause, I changed those ARTISTSORT tags to simple "Beatles", "Be Good Tanyas", etc., but I'm still seeing the same thing. I'll try zapping the cache. Should I wipe out all of /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache, or is deleting a subset okay (and if so, which)?
