Phil, I have just kicked off a Clear & Rescan on 7.6 r31878 on Win XP and its working fine. squeezebox-scanner.db has been created and the control panel shows "2. scanning new files" This box is a low power mini itx experiment and it will now take another few hours to complete, but it certainly has got past the initial housekeeping into the scanning.
