You can install the 7.6 firmware (version 86) on the Transporter. It will work fine with any recent version of Squeezebox Server.
Download transporter_86.bin from: http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.6.0/ and place it in your /server/firmware/ directory. Edit the transporter.version file in that same folder, changing the '83' to '86'. Save those two files somewhere. If you upgrade the server to a newer 7.5.x, the .version file will be overwritten and you'll need to copy the changed file back into the directory.
