I agree with you regarding this, I think this is the biggest negative
reaction I've seen on a release, there are usually always some problems
after a new release the difference now is that there are so many
different problems and so many users affected of them.

When the worst problems have been solved, I'm sure Logitech will take
the necessary measures to make sure this kind of situation doesn't
happen in the future. It definitely have a negative impact on their
reputation so it's not something they like to repeat.

I personally think it's important to get a 7.6.1 release as soon as
possible but I think it's even more important to make sure they
actually test it properly before officially releasing it. Releasing a
7.6.1 which still have a lot of critical bugs would destroy their
reputation even more than today. Logitech developers have already asked
the community to help beta testing 7.6.1 to make sure its quality gets a
lot better than the 7.6.0 release.

However, it's important to remember:
1. 
This is a community forum with no official Logitech presence. Sure
there are some Logitech developers posting here sometimes but this is
mainly because they feel that they are also part of this community.

2. 
Michael (one of the Logitech developers) have had over 100 posts in
this community forum after the release. Sure, there are a few community
members that have posted more than that after the release, but not many.
So since they have been one of the most frequent posters in the forum
after the release I really don't believe they are hiding.

3.
There are Logitech support staff which is responsible for helping users
with problems, you will find them by registering a support case at
http://www.logitech.com/support and sometimes they also post in the
official support forum at http://forums.logitech.com. 

4.
The Logitech developers are responsible for fixing bugs and
implementing new features, they are not responsible to help users with
problems or communicating Logitech marketing/communication strategy to
us. At the moment I personally prefer that the developers focus on
fixing the bugs rather than discussing in the forum. We have seen a lot
of bug fixing activities in the source code at end of last week, I
believe this means that they aren't hiding, they are just doing their
work.

5.
Neither the Logitech support staff nor the Logitech developers are
responsible to make public announcements regarding Logitech handling of
this. This is what Logitech marketing and management personnel is
responsible for and as far as I can see they rarely use this community
forum or the support forum for this kind of information, they probably
other channels which they prefer to use for this purpose.

If you like to critique someone, I'd rather focus that critique on:
- Logitech test resources, who probably didn't realize the quality of
the software.
- Logitech support staff, who hadn't prepared some kind of
troubleshooting guide in advance and still haven't.
- Logitech management, who clearly didn't communicated enough with the
people who knew the quality of the software.

But neither of these read this community forum, so it's pretty
pointless to critique them here.
