@mherger: I've made an amazing test concerning the bug:
I got an old album with 14 tracks in my database. Now I got a new edition with NEW artwork and 30 tracks on it! So I DELETED the old folder includinge the old album and added the WHOLE NEW album... After an update scan I see: The FIRST 14 tracks with OLD (deleted!) artwork - when I "browse them" (click on the album) there is the default album, tracks 15 - 30 with new artwork as "new album" with same title, same date, same... everything as the old one ...
