My experience with betas is that new ones gets stabler and better until they suddenly are not :D then you backtrack to an earlier version .....
So ime the latest is best intill it isn't . I have not upgraded in 1,5 week or so I used do do it daily but I keep it down to once a week at best nowadays . FYI I do not see your genre problem , must be specific to your platform or version .
