Yes, that's what I said in post #12.

There's bound to be some complications. The scanner would have to work
out any missing album artist for each album after every scan, as a post
scan activity. Can't set it as it reads each file. Album artist in some
cases would be set by tags on files. How would post scan know what album
artists need to be recalculated or were set from tags?

What about songs that don't belong on an album? Assume they get hoovered
up into "No Album" by Various Artists.
