I just want to chime in here with one small point: in order to make the default two modes intuitive and "in-line" with the marketplace standards, they need to be labeled as:
Home > Album Artists and Home > Artists obviously "Album Artists" would be the briefer list while "Artists" would be the more comprehensive one. sure, add a pref to allow users to rename these if you like, but by default that's how it needs to be to mirror the way the rest of the world does it. I also don't understand why "group compilations together" should have any influence over either list? compilation status should not be a part of creating the results set for either list.
