This is a UI annoyance that regularly gets me and happens with both
Firefox and Chrome on Linux:

- I open a web browser to choose music to play and it opens full
screen with the divider positioned in the middle.
- Having selected the music, I open new tabs, leaving the original
  open to come back to.
- In the meantime I dock the window against the edge of the screen
which halves the browser window width.
- Now when I come back to the tab to select more music, the divider
has not adjusted and I can only see the right column and the divider
is off the screen to the left and inaccessible.

Ideally I'd like the relative proportions of the left and right columns
to be maintained when the browser window is resized.

Having just played around further it seems the divider position is
persistent even if the tab is closed. This could be a problem for
someone that has a low resolution laptop they sometimes plug into a
large monitor. I imagine it would be awkward to adjust the divider
position after unplugging the monitor if it ended up off screen.
