Oh man - you are my hero (again! :))!!! It was - is I suspected as well - a plugin: "UPnP/DLNA Media Interface 1.0" by Andy Grundman - as that plugin is part of the official plugimn list I never suspected this plugin to be faulty...
Thank you so much - when this plugin is disabled my LMS stops/restarts as fast as it used to.
