Is this OSX ? System details would help a lot . Are you referring to a recent 7.6 or 7.8.1 or 7.9 version ( I would suggest latest 7.9 ) ?
But search the forum there are some tread about recent troubles with LMS and OSX especially some file permissions issues writing some files and directories ..
