Too many, yes. Many? Not sure: 6 out of 164. But agreed, it shouldn't happen.
Now every mixer behaves a little different. You're using MIP, aren't you? What are your settings? How many tracks would it add in one go? It would only check for repetition within a single batch of files added, but not over several batches.
