Overkott's formula 1 is a model of epistemology.

Its goal is to show the simple structure of all theories.

The first idea of the formula 1 is that 1 = 1 and not 1 = 0.

( That seems to be funny but you can find students of mathematics who
claim 1 = 0 at least for a little while. )

The second idea is that 1 = x * 1/x.

That means that 1 stands for all and x * 1/x for everything.

1 is the symbol for principle, unity, God, "I am", identity, self,
subject, community, peace, equity price, premise, paradigm

0 is the symbol for nothing. Nothing does not exist. That is the main
argument against nihilism.

All theories develop a subject: theo, geo, bio... in a -logy. That way
you say analog to the second idea of the formula:

theo = logy, geo = logy, bio = logy

The subject is the name of the -logy as a set of coherent ideas.

The -logy is the definition of the subject.

Every -logy can consist out of new subjects or premises of lower
theories.

You can also write the formula the other way round:

x * 1/x = 1

Be careful: In the beginning there was only one word, the premise and
a set of ideas as development. Now you find a set of premises that
come to a conclusion. The first way was deductive, the second
inductive. The first way is the method to explain a theory, the second
to built a theory. Let's start with theology first, you will see later
why.

Theology defines God according to the Bible. The first sentence is the
headline, leading sentence and teaser: God is the traditional word for
all and the principle of everything. Therefore God as the word for all
being exists per definition. God is existence. God is eternal life.

In the opposite the subject of a natural science is a self-restriction
in principle onto bio or geo or stuff like that. A natural science
does not talk about all but only about a part of all. A natural
science does not search for a general reason but for a special.

Theology has a wider approach, natural sciences look closer. They do
not contradict in principle but have their own topics, questions and
methods.
