Hi a minor note on boolean modifier.
as anyway there is a new branch https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-blender/branches/carve_booleans/ and because in the past carve was already tried with BMesh (back in 2010) it might be that some time can be saved not to fix old booleans.
