Wouldn't CTRL+LMB lead to accidentally extruding/adding new verts ? <just thinking out loud> I wonder why is not more common to use LMB+RMB as hotkey (in software in general, not just Blender) is a bit obscure but simple to use in both mouse and stylus, especially for things you don't do as often. (Bonus point: pressing RMB -then- LMB makes a nice little four notes sound!) </>
