Media has made it a point to brand them as Moral Police to any body who
protests about anything liked or branded as against certain norms of our
society.
In the present case it is Valentine Day. As far as I have gathered it relates
to early stages of Spring in the cycle of seasons.Its Indian equivalent is'
Basant ' which literally means Spring.
On fifth day of Indian Basant it is considered very good and auspicious for
uniting two young hearts by marriages and thousands of marriages are held on
that day if Indian Calender is to be followed.
Valentine Day is generally about with twenty days difference from Basant or
Spring,Both are about Spring [most probably] and it is because of geographical
difference of Western world and India.I have talked/discussed with people who
are well versed have confirmed I am 99% right.
All know that Spring is most right and natural season to feel more attracted at
least for young hearts.So Valentine Day and Basant are two sides of same
coin.My a little talking around like [ one can say ] research points that I am
not wrong.
Let us assume that taking highest numbers about ten lakh people may be inclined
to observe this Valentine Day [I doubt this number also ] So it is absolutely
very very small percent of even one percent population of our country who are
intrested in this.
Now we have to live by laws of our land.It means that anybody can do something
or any thing without violating somebody elses rights or feelings .So it means
that celeberation or protesting against celeberation of Valentine Day is not
against any law provided it is done within limits set by our laws and our
society.
So our Media forgot all important news and put these things on Headlines when
the percentage of population involved is most smallest of small from both sides
that that those who celeberate and those who oppose .Was it right? One must
think and decide for oneself.
It is jokingly said [I do not believe this ] that opposition to Valentine Day
was aimed to make Valentine Day more famous as Media will keep it in
forefront.It is difficult to find what is truth or otherwise.But we must think
about it.
But it is true opposition to Valentine Day has given Media a platform to make
Valentine day more known.Odpposition of wrong methods by all including Media is
right thing as all will agree.
The crux of matter is opposing Valentine Day is as much right as celeberation
of Valentine day [Basant or Spring season ] provided both are done in proper
way.But did this most insignificant matter deserve this much attention and
branding some people by Media as Moral Police for opposing [of course it shoid
be in right way only ] Valentine Day.
It is rightly said that it is our fundamental right do or oppose anything
provided it is done in a right way by both sides.Calling some body opposing as
Moral Police is not coreect as those who oppose the people opposing can also be
called Moral Police or if some body says Immoral Police !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The correct thing according to my humble opinion is that those who call others
as Moral Police for opposing [in right way of course] any thing should be
called Immoral Police as these people are themselves opposing the people who
are opposing.!!!!!!
I may be wrong or right is to be decided by everybody for oneself.
