Dear Manu, Lets make facts right about this issue. Lets start with Swiss bank. Its not one single bank. The term 'Swiss bank' is being used collectively for a group (500+) of banks based in Switzerland.. As per WMF these banks have 40% of the world (private property) money. The customers of these banks are the most powerful / inflential people in the world. Most of them are big politicians, bussinessman, smugglers, hollywood / bollywood stars. Adolf Hitler and Idi Amin are few to name. The estimated amount of Indian money in these banks are 1456 Bn $. India tops the list of biggest (monetary terms) customers of this list, followed by Russia, UK, Ukrain, China. There is no way one can know the account details of an individual from these bank.....the security of information is the most important aspect for these banks....and its the factor for which they are the most preferred by black money owners. The swiss bank corporation is organization of all swiss banks which takes care of the customer info. There is provision of sentence of imprisonment for disclosing customer info in Swiss law. Anybody (govt, Interpole etc. including Swiss govt) cannot make any Swiss bank to disclose their customer info. Money earned by not paying taxes (incom tax etc.) or disproportionate property (Mayavati / Mulayam Singh case) cannot be considered as crime as per Swiss law. And if any govt. approaches Swiss govt with this excuse; they would be turned down by saying 'that's ur (country) problem'. Only exception to this law is money earned from trade of drugs and weapons. But you need to prove it in Swiss court then only the claims are considered valid. And proving such things in court are next to impossible (all knows what happens in court...at least in India). I don't understand under which law Advani is going to seek the info of the (Indian) money owners in these banks.
I still remember the Shivsena+BJP alliance had promised to bring Dawood in India if they come in power in assembly elections of Maharashtra. They ultimately did come in power and obviously nothing happend of that promise.. Even if BJP comes into power nothing will happen to this issue as well. But arent their real problems in India? How to eradicate poverty? whats the status of farmers? what's the status of education in rural area? Whats are the medical facilities for poor? What about the problem of child labour? Envoiroment issue? job? health sanitation? security? Nobody talks about the real problems, because they dont' want to get dirty. To clean the mess you need to gert dirty. The facts mentioned above make the task (swiss bank issue) look utterly foolish. But that's how our politicians are. I thinks its the responsibility of few people like us to let others know the facts when our politicians make such promises. Its a great advantage of our generation that we've got such prvileged medium (internet, blogs etc) of communication. So lets make serious discussions based on facts unlike our politicians. I can understand your emotions buddy, but our thoughts should be based on facts; at least in such forums.
