After blind and brainless sudden deregulation of education (higher technical education ) in country, lot of lalas and baniyas and even failed industrial houses, I wont like to name and pain them, jumped in the business of cash revenue, the higher technical education.
Several people benefited .How? : 1.Control of state went off on fees. Thus lalas started making huge money in name of autonomy, private universities and specially deemed universities. The transformation of small institute cluster into deemed universities was a clever ploy of Banias and corrupt Ministry of HRD and UGC people to mint money.Every one benefited-Lalas as deemed university and babudom and ministers by taking bribes.Old retired general faculty profs getting second innings with lacs of salaries. While helpless students are paying through noses and getting bullshit back.Even class rooms dont have AC and white boards and LCDE projectors. The minimum. Poor students have to now pay Rs 1.3 to 2.5 lacs per annum for sub standard engineering and MBA type education in country instead of Rs 40,000 per annum. And what they get? A fraudulent and third rate set up run by retired state university system professors having hardly any hands on experience and real knowledge and who hardly taught when they were active in their respective colleges. Even people from general faculties like commerce, psychology and economics are posing as professors of business management and enjoying huge perks Rs 1 to Rs 2.5 lacs per month at cost of helpless parents and students. The private sector boom has been seized by state university junk and retired stuff who have hardly any skills, knowledge ,attitude or experience and a capability.India is churning out masses of degree holders who are taught in substandard setups and by third rate guys who should take rest in homes. It is bitter truth based on my own experience both as Senior corporate executive, consultant and professor of management in several such set ups for more than decade now.I am disgusted.I challenge any top government authority and Minister himself to confront me if they have guts on real facts and want to discuss issues with us. 2. This fraud of Deemed universities and Private Sector state promoted universities should be curbed immediately and boldly not falling to pressure of lalas and corrupt professors who are having second innings at huge salaries.Kapil Sibal , please be tough and dismantle these setups. 3.I fail to understand why 100% posts of professors in technology institutes have been reserved for third rate PhD holders? Why 50% posts have not been made compulsory for senior corporate and R&D institutes ,consultant experts as Industry stream posts?.This is must to bring both academics and experience together for students.Result is that fraudulent experts of general subjects are teaching Engineering and Management students. There can't be bigger mockery than going on in India. Every one knows that Indian PhDs except a few cases are fraudulent ,third class and were secured by third rate guys prior to period of 1985 ,generally. They are scrap material and should be treated like that. Students are suffering.Nation is suffering. While laws and UGC and state controllers are making hay while the shun is shining after private university and institute system opened up 15 years back.Sun has shine too long by now.It must dwindle. It is time students, parents and industries are asked to take control of curriculum, teaching and research in both state and private universities and deemed university system is done away with which is solely for aim to charge huge fees on their own. There is no other purpose.By grouping 4-5 colleges as university it does not become university. 4. Publish or perish:Like in West Indian third rate state university system and UGC Profs instead of encouraging practical research in technology, encourage theoretical practices like in general faculties .Every institute today brings out conferences and papers. Most of this is cut and paste and trash job.No one reads these and no one benefits.Citation index of India is not even 0.5% and much lower than even China and Singapore. This is all fraud so the third rate state university profs can dominate private sector under regulations pretext and also keep their jobs and get promotions by showing list of publications.Junk is being created all around the world and specially India. Time has come for allowing industry people to come into technical education, regulate private sector honestly, throw out retired state university stuff which has entered private sector, dismantle UGC and AICTE type organisations and set up autonomous Councils of higher technical education on 5 regional basis so real practical and technical education with actual research takes place under tight regulation.A national fee commission should be set up urgently. Students should wake up and demand people from Industry and consultancy in faculty and not third rate general faculty PhDs for teaching and guiding them,.Indian education need to be job oriented and experiential now. Fees should be reduced. It is not difficult.I think for last decade old professors have had whale of time in Indian education sector. Now Time for them to go home. Government should not yield to pressures and dismantle deemed universities as well as tighten up the fraudulent state private university system so they become centre of excellence for real and practical experience based centres for teaching young lot in India. Enough fraud has been done with nation. Be tough and act tough now. And for God's stop calling IIMs and IT's centres of excellence. This is just too much and far from reality.Insiders know about it.How excellent these are. AS far as State universities are concerned owned by government, they are in wretched condition with professors teaching in private Institutes, taking leave and becoming directors there, no physical facilities,no research and no teaching.State universities are worse than private.Kapil Sibal seems to be blind to this part of picture.Guys who are messing up state education are directing and dominating deregulated private sector in lust of money and second round of jobs.Great! What fraud is going on in nation. Industry should boycott most of the state university ,deemed university and private autonomous institute and refuse to hire students unless they make good setup, stop fraudulent research and bring industry people as professors at least 50%.They should visit these universities and Institutes and see things except impressive buildings where black money is dumped. There are no soft facilities. I am open to received criticism of this article and my observations from learned profs and administratoirs and also suggestion from students and parents and public. Members pleaze comment and make a plan of action. Prof R K Gupta 9413782645 India FORCE
