Well majority of private Institutes converted into deemed university to
1. get university status and prestige
2.Seal of acceptance
3.Freedom to charge huge fees which are 3-5 times original amount allowed by
state sector controlling university ( A major reason for going the deemed way)
4.And experiment with syllabus in name of latest syllabus which no one there
understands.
These so called deemed universities claiming excellence and criticising
government owned obsolete third rate universities ,but rightly, however are
seized by same old outdated third rate professors from government sector only
as rules demand this.

In fact these deemed universities have become state run universities per se and
backyards or extension of state owned sick setups. So who is benefiting? No
one, except retired and working professors of public sector universities. They
only are working there and they are also inspectors from UGC.Great mockery is
going on in country.

Research -a fancy word:

Every one talks of research. That is another big joke in India. All these great
professors and great universities put together cant claim even 0.1 %
contribution to globally accepted and original research work since 1947 to
now.Research has become fashionable word in universities to harass private
sector by these 'cut and paste' profs of old universities. When some professor
in India talks of technology area research , I cant help but laugh.Majority of
publications are trash work. These guys are not even from mainstream
disciplines.Every one is minting money and has free for all.Whateveer research
is being done is done in Industry or Industry sponsored projects only.Students
are being looted and doled out third rate education in the same State type set
ups.
Owners are happy as they are making huge money too. Most are failed businessmen
and traders. Why should they bother and what they can do also if they want to
do? Indian education is in clutches of babus, third rate obsolete fraudulent
academicians and politicians. In technical education, it is strange that people
from industry have been completely sidelined by UGC and AICTE now. This only
shows these third rate professors' foul intentions to corner teaching posts and
directorships. They hardly know what is business and what is industry research
and how research is done and why and even what is technology. The situation is
pathetic. The best tool with them was to isolate industry people and clamp PhD (
another third rate degree in India of summer training level) requirements. The
logical thing would have been to have a simply 6 months research technique
orientation course for industry people for teaching positions. At least 50%
posts should be reserved for industry stream in the faculty and Director should
be always from industry and professions. It is fallacy created by these state
sector professors that research is some thing mysterious capability and
heavenly and only PhD holders can understand it.Fact is industry does much more
research than all IITs,IIMs,Universities put together in India.

We should not compare ourselves to USA,UK or Germany. There professors are
entirely different types. Both central government and students should rise to
occasion and kick out retired stuff from private universities and institutes
and demand faculty from industry and business. The joke is when I took a PhD
holder from premier institute of India to a big lectric motor and asked to
identify terminal box of motor he could not do so.In another case I asked a
Dean and PhD in electric engineering in a state run university in Rajasthan
about selection of a distribution cable type (4 core or 3 core and why)for
power and its criteria. He simply disappeared. What kind of research these
idiots do?The whole technical and higher education in India is a mockery and
damaging to national interest. The system is now totally sick. All these rules
are being made by UGC , AICTE and Ministry to arm twist businessmen to dole out
money. It is all money and power game.People should understand this.

India is way and way behind in education at higher technology level. Most of it
is fraudulent.I also know this as my own children are studying in Canada and my
nephews in USA study including at Harvard and I know the standards there.Time
has come to kick out old stuff from technical higher education and bring in
role of industry and consultancy people and reform whole setup and dismantle
UGC and AICTE type sick organisations full of babudom and corruption.Fees
should be reduced in India again. If deemed universities are fraudulent, the
public owned state universities in India are more fradulent and sick( most of
the professors work elesewhere or teach in other institutes only) and the new
breed of state promoted private universities (section 2(f))are equally bad and
farcical.

So why go after only deemed universities? Take all of these to task.

I have great hope from industry and students community to come forward and join
us for reforms movements. We should sense the dramatics of these babus and
politicians. Finally nothing will come out after a few years and only money will
chnage hands.I would invite those who think otherwise than above mentioned
facts to join the issues and prove us wrong.
