Friends,

I
had come to know of a letter by Sri Paramjit Singh, resident of
34/10, Raj Nagar, Jullundhur, Punjab sent to NHRC on 26/05/2010, which
matter pertained to the beating of a boy and was based on a news
clipping flashed in India TV where an 10 year old orphan child was badly
beaten and tortured in Patna by the Public in the presence of Police on
the
allegation of theft. Despite the fact that the matter naturally falls
under the realm of the NHRC and it should immediately have been taken
up,
the NHRC closed the matter.

Later on I, on behalf of IRDS, also
sent a letter to NHRC which now sent the copy to the SSP Patna for
suitable action at his/her end.
Thus it is obvious that the NHRC does
not seem very serious about the matter otherwise it should have
followed the matter properly. But we need to go on harping the issue
till the logical end. Today I sent another letter to SSP Patna with a
copy to theNHRC which might be of importance to you and which might put
some pressure on the authorities in Patna.

I present a copy of the letter to you for your kind perusal.
