You could possibly do this with a script hook...

...but this is much harder.  There's no set format for bundle layout,  
and a save in Pages might wipe out your .bib file.  CVS/Subversion  
metadata directories inside packages have similar problems (Interface  
Builder used to remove those, for instance).

At this point, the easiest options for sharing are Bonjour or external  
groups via http (both read-only).
