Yes, really. You can see here <https://bugs.launchpad.net/sparkle/ +bugs> that there are many bugs, including critical and high priority ones. And that's just in the latest beta, the latest 'stable' release has its own bugs. If others want to take the chance that's their prerogative. If you didn't have problems you're just lucky.
