Hi Ray,

You don't say what kind of riding you'll use the tires for, and that
can be important. Offroad, and you'll want tougher sidewalls and
rougher tread. Lots of stop-and-go riding, and you'll want a lighter
tire. Bad roads with scattered glass, and you'll want additional flat
protection. If you mainly ride good roads, it's tough to beat the
Pasela -- it's fast, comfy, and handles well. Bummer that its
sidewalls aren't holding up for you. You might want to try the 1.5 --
narrower tires put less stress on their sidewalls, all else equal.

If you're looking for more of an all-rounder tire, check out the Geax
Streetrunner 1.6". Geax is Vittoria's BMX brand, and while the tires
are ugly as sin, they seem very well made and offer a nice toughness/
comfort/weight compromise in a package that's great on streets,
including rough ones, and does fine on dirt/grass, too. And you can
sometimes find them for <$15 at Nashbar/Performance.
