Hi Tony

The edge will handle weather no problem, in fact it can be submersed
with no harmful effect

Water resistance: IPX7 This device meets the IPX7 water-resistance
standard . According to this European standard, the device can be
submersed to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes without harmful effects.

Battery Life is another issue however you can use external UBS battery
devices to give a longer life. The standard is supposed to be 15 hours
but 10 is more the norm. With an external UBS device you can run for
longer times and or recharge the device.
