What's a MUP? The Nokian W240 would be the best option if you get rutted ice. As Nick Bull writes, the W106 doesn't work well unless the ice is flat. So they're just great on black ice or frozen runoff, and when the snow is new. The W240 gives you fairly low rolling resistance (for a studded tire) and plenty of studs far to the sides of the tread.
You might be happy with the Schwalbes, but most likely you wouldn't as the studs aren't that far to the sides. If you weren't happy with the W240s, you'd be well advised to take up knitting. ;-) On Sep 24, 10:59 am, "Andrew Ward" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I know, fall has just arrived, but I waited too late for studded tires > last year, and it looks like Schwalbe has stock of some models/sizes > already. > > I'm in the market for a pair of 700c studded tires.
