Hello all.....Just to update everyone on the durability of my German Alpine rucksack panniers... I have done quite a bit of off road touring with these, as well as my son. My son does not have the physical ailments I do and is and off road racer. He abused the panniers, with lots of heavily loaded off road, fast, non suspended riding. I abused them as well as I was able, riding lots of single track through manzanita, brush and quite a few instant stops by accidently catching pine trees with the pannier. I washed them in a commercial tumble drier after my cat puked on one. The green faded a bit, but no tears, no torn stitches, no failed glue and no wear through. I use them weekly to get groceries, with a load of about 60 lbs as the largest. They work great, and my bike is now my car, and will be for the next ten years or so, or as long as my body can pedal. I am sure the panniers will last as least that long. They now sport a 'carfree' patch.
