Ditto on the Beerview mirror. Various people make these from bottle caps &
bicycle spokes. They clip on eyeglass frames, similar to the Third Eye.

As to the bike geek cred, just returned from a long tour in Europe where
mirrors seem to be novel but welcome. Everyone wants a photo of the
beerview! Mirrors of any style are especially useful as tour buses sneak up
on you (rear engine, little noise) on shoulderless 2 lane roads.

I strongly prefer my glasses-mount Third Eye mirror. I can aim it
anywhere by moving my head, it gives a wide field of view because it's
so close to my eye, and it boosts my bike geek cred when I forget to
take it off.
