Do you want the panniers for touring (packing clothes and camping gear)
or for basic grocery/shopping hauling?
Since getting a custom bike that fits me better for pleasure riding and
longer distances, I am about to convert my Rambouillet into my practical
grocery/errand bike.
I know a woman who made her own grocery 'panniers' from 2 large plastic
cat sand buckets (sprayed black), and she put up a slideshow on all the
steps she took to make them. Let me know if you want a link to see that.
