After several years of riding on compacted limestone-tailing trails
the hubs on my bike are beginning to make a sound indicating that it's
time for a cleaning and re-lubrication. Since they're Shimano Dura-
Ace, this is no big problem. I can just take them apart, clean and
lube.

While I'm at it, I was thinking about doing something with the
cassette bearings, as well. Realizing, though, that this is not a
component that one would want to fully disassemble and overhaul, I
feel like I'm faced with the following options:

1) Ignore it and wait until it ceases to function, purchasing a
replacement unit somewhere down the line.

2) Get some kind of device like a Free Hub Buddy and inject new
lubricants into, pushing out the old grease and dirt in the process.

3) Maybe blow the old grease out with an air hose and drip new oil
into the hub from the axle lock nut side, hoping for the best.

Anyone have any input on cassette maintenance like this?
